“BRING LIGHT INTO THE DARKNESS” is our 2009-2010 theme which centers on RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS. We all know that God...Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is a God of Light. Through our Baptism, we became children of the Light. We also know that we are temples of the Holy Spirit, therefore the Holy Spirit lives within us. And if the Holy Spirit lives within us, the Light, which is God, lives within us. Where there is Light, there cannot be darkness because the two cannot co-exist together. Light always overpowers the darkness.

For example, you enter your home at night and it is so dark inside that you cannot even see your hand which is no more than 6 inches from your face. In the darkness you stumble to find the lamp. Once the lamp is turned on, the light shines throughout the room banishing the darkness. Light rules. Darkness cannot enter again unless you take away the light.

And so it is with our lives. We have the Light of God within us. But it isn’t our Light. It doesn’t belong to us. It’s God’s Light which He freely shares with us. It is a gift that He wants or rather expects us to share with each other. By sharing His Light we transform our world. By our good deeds, our “Random Acts of Kindness,” others will see the Light that we share, the same light that shines within us. We will pass that Light to them and through the feeling of joy that we bring to them, they will accept the Light and by the grace of God, they will have a desire to share the Light and thus transform their world.
